Be sure to attend the first ANS-UNI joint working session that will discuss the need for U.S. suppliers to be more competitive, and outright successful, as the nuclear industry transitions into the next decade of new nuclear projects.

The event will be held during the ANS Annual Meeting, June 9-13. Register today.

Supply Chain Special Session: The Next Generation Of Supply Chain Innovation–A New Business Road Map for the Supply Chain, Domestic and International
Tuesday, June 11:

Part I – Panel Discussion, 1:30-3:40 pm CT

Part II – Workshop, 3:55-5:30 pm CT

A modern business road map must be integrated into the “Next-Generation U.S. Supply Chain Process” for it to be successful. This is imperative domestically with Utilities/Operators and emerging reactor technologies, and internationally as they compete to provide goods and services to global nuclear projects.

Engaged industry executives will share their perspectives on what is needed to improve collaboration and integration between Suppliers and Utilities/Operators.

Special focus will be dedicated to attendee and panelist interaction with a workshop to identify issues needing attention along with developing corresponding actions for a 2019-2020 Supply Chain Strategic and Tactical Working Plan.

Panel Topics:

UNI: Who Are We, How Are We Different, and What’s Our End Objective and Plans to Improve U.S. Supplier Business Domestically and Internationally

International U.S. Supply Chain Challenges – First Hand Experience

U.S. Supply Chain Enhancement for Domestic and International Opportunities

How Can We Create A “Team USA” Supply Chain to Compete Internationally

Mr. Greg Gibson, UNI’s Executive Director, reported that Mr. Vince Gilbert had formally retired. Mr. Gibson stated that Vince’s proposed surprise retirement party has been re-scheduled for June 11th during the UNI Special Session & Workshop, “The Next Generation of Supply Chain Innovation–A New Business Road Map for the Supply Chain, Domestic and International” at the upcoming American Nuclear Society (ANS) Annual Meeting in Minneapolis.

Detailed discussions entailed, with Don Eggett spending the necessary time reviewing and highlighting the February 26th meeting minutes to ensure key issues and summaries were understood by meeting participants and given their necessary prioritization:

Gap 3: Proactive means to achieve a defined US supplier content in International Nuclear Projects

Gap 4: Development of sufficient human resources, tools and methods to support
increasing number of transitions from nuclear plant operations to nuclear plant decommissioning modes
